Types of lessons
See the About you page for more information on who I teach.
Private Lessons are generally reserved for active performers, professional track singers, and advanced non-professional track performers. Depending on availability, other skill levels are accepted as private students, so please do not hesitate to ask! Lessons are offered in person and online.
Group Lessons are available for those who want to support and develop their current skills, learn more about how physical and social transitioning impacts singers, and connect with other similarly-skilled musicians. Offered in New York City only.
Web Workshops are available throughout the year and cover a wide range of topics, including training the transmasculine falsetto/head voice during the first year of testosterone, dealing with the effects of aging, and training the transfeminine voice to sing alto/soprano. Topics presented are based on community needs. The general format is approximately one hour of material from me followed by another hour of Q&A to address specific individual needs (10 – 15 participants per session).
Community Classes are available for those who want to learn how to read music. These are currently only offered in New York City, but an online course is in development and should be available early in 2020.
Consultations are available both to transgender singers and cisgender teachers who work with transgender students. For singers, I offer a 90-minute consultation and will answer your questions, vocalize you, and develop a personalized practice routine tailored to your specific needs.

The trans community faces many hurdles, including significant underemployment and barriers to resources. For that reason, I offer a sliding scale to all trans students. No verification is needed, just the honor system and recognition that we are all part of the same community. Since voice lessons are often inaccessible even in the university setting, transgender singers have preference for voice lessons, and the web workshops are designed for transgender-specific topics.
For group lessons and community classes, people of color and LGBTQ+ people are eligible for the sliding scale rate.
